LOS ANGELES, Feb. 3, 2023 — Tailwind Acquisition Corp. and NUBURU have completed their previously announced business combination, resulting in NUBURU becoming a publicly listed company. The combined company now operates under the name Nuburu Inc. with its common stock now trading on the NYSE under the ticker symbol BURU. PALO ALTO, Calif. — Psi Quantum has signed a contract with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to perform on the Utility-Scale Quantum Computing (US2QC) program, which underpins the U.S. government’s commitment to identify companies with credible roadmaps to building a useful quantum computer in the near term. PARIS — Welinq , a startup developing quantum interconnects based on neutral-atom technology, has closed a ?5 million ($5.4 million) financing round. The pre-seed round was led by Quantonation, a venture capital firm dedicated to quantum technologies, with participation of Luxembourg-based Runa Capital, and support from the Paris Region, the French National Quantum Initiative, the French Banque Publique d’Investissement, and the European Commission. DENDERMONDE, Belgium — Luceda Photonics , a developer of design software and services for photonic integrated circuits, has established a partnership with Spark Photonics that will extend and enhance the level of support and services for its customers in North America. Spark Photonics will become an official partner of Luceda Photonics in North America, where Spark Photonics will enhance the support of Luceda Photonics’ design software. ST. GALLEN, Switzerland — FISBA , a developer and producer of optical and illumination systems, has entered into an agreement to acquire Gray Optics , a developer of precision optical systems. The move to acquire Gray Optics is intended to expand its engineering and development capabilities in North America. JENA, Germany — Jenoptik concluded a framework agreement with a global technology group at the end of 2022 with a total volume in the upper double-digit euro range and a term of three years. The contract covers the manufacture of complex micro-optical components used in semiconductor production facilities. GLASGOW, Scotland — Vector Photonics has received over ?2.4 million of equity investment to further commercialize its all-semiconductor PCSEL (photonic crystal surface emitting laser) technology. Funding was provided by new investors Clean Growth Fund and Scottish Enterprise, with participation from Foresight WAE Technology Funds, UK Innovation & Science Seed Fund, and Equity Gap.
